We are in Providence, RI

My bit - Hi all! My husband and I are in Providence, RI for a zentangle workshop? I will be doing the tangling and Jeff is going to go photographing around the area. How lucky we are to have something to share and explore.

My piece - Check out my Pinterest exercise board for a morning yoga wake-up routine. I have only completed it a couple of times but it is great for centering. It should go well with zentangle. Have fun.

My bits - Happy Tuesday! What a weekend with a celebration of a friend's son who graduated form law school and Father's Day with the grandkids. Isn't it a wonder to watch such amazing development right before your eyes. Learning to walk, copying what others doing and trying out new things over and over until they get it! Wow! They world has a lot to learn from watching babies explore!

My piece - I love to make cards. Here is one I made for Father's Day.

 Super simple.

1. Gather
• card stock - 10 x 7 to fold to a 5 x 7 card
• scrapbook paper cut for background - 5 x 7 it's great to find paper with squares to diamonds to go against the circles - or paper that matches the colors of the circles
• scrapbook paper scraps and circle punches of various sizes
• glue stick or double stick tape
• pop up dots

2. Cut
• card stock to 10 x 7 if it is not already that size - fold to 5 x 7 card
• background scrapbook paper 5 x 7
• punch various size circles out of different colors of paper

3. Glue
• 5 x 7 background paper onto front of card - decide if you want card to open up to the top or to the side
• place circles on paper until you like the design.
• decide which ones you want have "pop up"
• glue or tape down circles onto paper
• use pop up dots of squares on the circles you want to pop up. You can use double of you really want the circle to pop up of want several layers of circles

4. Finish
• Write a message inside, sign and date the back and you are finished. The hardest part is deciding the paper to use for the background and dots. Of course you can change punch design, color of paper, etc. to match any occasion! Have fun!

It is finally summer but I am still thinking about school!!?????

My bits- Hi all! I am finally not going to school for the rest of the week. It made me appreciate all that I have and how teachers need lots of down time in order to engage in all the hard thinking we do! Yay for summer!

My pieces - I know it's summer but I some great pins on my school board in Pinterest. One is energizers by Nick Romagnolo - pass the clap. It is at the bottom of my school board. The other is using paint chips for vocabulary work. The video is form a high school class but I can definitely see the benefit in elementary. The paints chips vocabulary pin is at the top of my school board.  Both of these are from the Teaching Channel. That's all for now. Back to being a slug on the couch! Love, Betsy

My bits - Good morning! I just taught my spin class and am so grateful that I can have a great class and a space to clear my head. I have been in a workshop on RtI and it is fascinating, informative and overwhelming. I hope I am not to old to be that teacher that never changes and is always grouchy. Our kids are too important. Once again, thanks to all those great teachers out there who are alwys searching for a way to connect to all students.

My pieces - Check out mu pinterest board on exercises. There are some good but hard ideas about core work. Happy exercising!!! Betsy
